Scattered convictions for December 2022
Convictions on my mind lately through interactions with my team, other founders, and other entrepreneurs.

How to get nowhere
Two states of mind that will get you nowhere. Three states of mind that will get you somewhere.

Itβs perfectly fine if you think your work gives life meaning
I've always struggled when people say that 'it's just a job' because I think your job, your work, your daily devotion and focus... those things should give you meaning.

Entrepreneurs and mental health
Entrepreneurs are 2x as likely to suffer from depression, 2x as likely to have suicidal thoughts, 3x as likely to suffer from substance abuse.

Be valuable to the people you meet
Recently I was asked by a soon-to-be-be college graduate, "What's the best advice you have for someone entering the job market?"

The slippery slope of side projects
Do I really want to dedicate substantial time over the next five years to this side project, or am I hyper-fixating on that dopamine hit I get when I start something new and exciting?

Too siloed a focus inhibits opportunity
When you are too siloed in your focus, you miss out on opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Physicality sets boundaries
I, too, have found my βrhythmβ of at-home work/life, but I think that most people are ready for at least the option of non-home-workspaces.
